This project provided limited scope since it focused on a pair of furniture. Despite that, it allowed us to truly explore the richness of teak as a material. These bespoke furniture pieces, designed for the client’s family living space, presents an ode to solid teak wood, rattan and craftsmanship.

Each piece of teak wood was carefully chosen after a thorough assessment of its colour and grain. Our team examined multiple polish samples, after which we finalised the one that matched our preferred shade, and best revealed the striking grain patterns. In contrast to the medium-dark toned teak, the rattan establishes lightness and complements the rich wood tones, creating harmony and a balanced aesthetic. The antique brass knobs enhance the linear tessellation pattern and the richness of the wood.

The piece stands tall against a backdrop of soft, diffused light filtering through a glass partition, seamlessly blending into its architectural setting. It transforms it from a piece of furniture to a well-crafted statement.
